Our city and the suburban settlements are provided with potable water from underground aquifers located at a depth of 160 to 180 meters. This resource is not bottomless, though many believe that we have plenty of water resources.

Organised water supply increases water quantities drawn from the underground, resulting that water levels in many areas are sinking fast. In other words, not everyone can have sufficient water, therefore the common interest should be defined, i.e. the purpose, the quantity and the method of using water.

Conscious and responsible consumers, the industry, the Municipality and out PUC have invested and are investing in ensuring sufficient quantities of potable water. We are also investing in its quality by treating the raw water, which contains iron, ammonia and arsenic, harmful components of geological origin.

We invested and are investing into environment protection, the protection of Lake Palic and the streams in our vicinity, by increasing the capacity and improving the quality of mechanical, biological and chemical treatment of waste waters.

The effective consumption of this valuable resource, the potable water and the cost-effectiveness of the supporting complex and expensive water managing, public utility and ecological system meets the needs and good habits of life in urban environments.

While deliberately planning future and implementing cost-effective management today, we appeal to our consumers to use drinking water rationally so that we can leave to future generation equal opportunities.
